Writers WriteTM Launches Interactive Website for Mystery Author Joyce Christmas

Dallas -- February 19, 1998 -- Writers WriteTM announced today the launch of its new author webpage section, located at http://www.writerswrite.com/authors/. The company now offers web design, maintenance and hosting of author webpages on its site. The company designed and will host the new interactive website for popular mystery author Joyce Christmas, author of the Betty Trenka and the Lady Margaret Priam mystery series published by Fawcett Gold Medal, a division of Ballantine Publishing Group. The author of 11 mysteries and numerous short stories (one of which was recently nominated for a Macavity award), Joyce Christmas is the former associate editor of The Writer Magazine and Plays Magazine in Boston and is a former National Board Member of the Mystery Writers of America.

Christmas' new website showcases some fascinating new features. In addition to an author biography, guestbook and bibliography, the site also offers original interviews conducted by Christmas herself with the main characters in her books, as well as original artwork by Manhattan artist Otto Franz Krone. This month features interviews with Lady Margaret Priam and Prince Paul Castrocani, both characters in the Lady Margaret Priam mystery series.

About her new website, Christmas stated, "I enjoy hearing from my readers. I wanted a way to interact with them, let them know about my new projects and have some fun at the same time. A website is a great way to do that."

About the trend of authors doing their own marketing, Christmas said, "Writing today is a highly competitive business, and it has fallen to authors to be active in marketing their work. The Internet is becoming the most effective way to do this, so a website can be of great help in bringing one's name to the public. Doing 'interviews' with my characters gives me insights into what they're really like. Besides, as every writer knows, you spend a lot of time devising ways to avoid writing. Thinking of things for a website sure beats washing the kitchen floor."
